about

Montage was, like Bisk, Multiphonic Ensemble, ROM=PARI and a few others, the kind of Japanese music we wanted to advocate from 1995

Mixology by Akira Yamamichi, who produces an extremely torn Drum'n'Bass, was published in 1998.

MONTAGE is a breakbeat jazz/electronica outfit by Mitch (Akira Yamamichi). Mitch began djing and producing dub/techno with Ryoji Ikeda as CCI in 1990. After a few years of CCI, Mitch started MONTAGE and produced abstract hiphop and drum'n'bass under the influence of MO'WAX and Ninja Tune. He released the Anthlopologie and Mixology CDs on Soup-disk (and under licence from Sub Rosa). He joined the turntable summit "Headz by Headz" as a DJ (also feat. DJ Krash, DJ Cam, and DJ Vadim). He remixed DJ Vadim's track for Ninja Tune. After that, he found new streams in jazzanova, modaji-crossover, deep house, Brasillian, Latina. Then, he produced Brasillian deep house, joining Bossa tres jazz 2/v.a. (yellow productions) and François K's "Bossa Mundo 2". He started a private label, "universal language", and released the crossover/broken beatz CDs "Les Vibes Bleu" and "Blue vibes ».
